Sr. Systems Engineer

Key Responsibility
The Systems Engineer is responsible for the design and development of the system architecture and requirements for charging equipment, energy storage and solar applications.  The Systems Engineer will develop and maintain company required documentation to support the new product introduction process. The systems engineer shall support the development of a technical roadmap for future products and will develop the necessary hardware and software tools to fulfil each
Main Tasks
  • Overall responsible for the system design and engineering deliverables for each project
  • Directs Electrical, Mechanical, Software and Test engineers and technicians within the project
  • Technical Point-of-Contact (POC) for the customer
  • Conduct design reviews internally and drive open items to closure.  
  • Ensures the quality of design reviews and verifies the design follows engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
  • Controls project expenditures within the limits of the project budget
  • Creates schedules that contribute to the master project schedule and manages the technical team to the schedule
  • Participates in requirements planning and documentation, conceptual designs, make/buy analyses, test methodology, design documentation, anomaly tracking and resolution, peer reviews (your designs and others), design reviews, and hardware/software debugging
  • Defines product specifications and incorporate into overall design strategy and technology.
  • Write engineering development test reports that include conclusions and recommendations.
  • Prepare engineering documentation including but not limited to DFMEA, Lessons Learned and design assumptions.
  • Formally release all product requirements into the company change management system.
  • Establish production feasibility of designs working with vendors, engineers, and field technicians
  • Continuously track costs and generate and follow-up on cost reductions.
  • Document technical risks and properly manage them throughout each project
  • Communicate with other engineers to help develop product strategy for standardization.
  • Write and maintain clear traceability from requirements to verification & validation
  • Ensure that requirements are verifiable and are following the proper etiquette
  • Experience with regulatory certification agencies i.e. UL, cUL, NOM, CE, CQC, CCC, etc.
  • Experience with NFPA-70 is preferred

Skills and Qualifications 
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies and competitive technical solutions.
  • Knowledge of electronics manufacturing methods.
  • Knowledge of EMC design, system troubleshooting and debugging.  
  • Excellent verbal, technical writing, interpersonal and organizational skills required.
  • Knowledgeable of DFMEA

Job Requirements 
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering (minimum).  
  • Work Experience: > 10 years  
  • Language Requirements: English
  • Required work authorization: United States
  • Travel: Up to 30%


Pay: $140k-160k/yr
