Purpose and scope:
The Quality Manager will lead all activity related to ISO, UL, product quality and supplier quality.  They will assist the organization in meeting it's quality objectives and driving a continuous improvement culture, to solve organizational, production, service, and supplier related problems; utilizing the fundamentals of design, lean principles, engineering and quality tools, and detailed analysis.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the UL and ISO standards for the organization, taking a prime role in ensuring compliance and education within the company.  Liaise with all regulatory bodies to always ensure best practice and compliance.  Continuously maintain and improve regulatory documentation in collaboration with leadership of each department.  Lead the quarterly Management Review process. 
  • Manage the customer and supplier RMA process data, ensuring transactions are completed correctly and timely; RCCA is completed with countermeasures understood and agreed; detailed analysis is available, and trends analyzed.  Lead the review of supplier RMA responses, identify and follow up on improvement actions and ensure RMA credits are processed timely and correctly.   Coordinate data reviews with Engineering and leadership to establish product improvement action plans.
  • Review manufacturing and service processes and work with each team to improve productivity and efficiency by adopting the 'Least worst way'.  Continually review and update practices and methods in conjunction with production, service and engineering, ensuring process documentation is updated by dept leadership.
  • Develop, create, and manage manufacturing process flows including QA check points, process sheets, work instructions, and operational methods sheets (OMS) (assembly + test) for the company products.
  • Document and review 'Out the box' failures from customers and identify RCCA with Engineering and Production.  Identify and document process changes and ensure rollout to each production team.
  • Lead the development of a supplier score card reflecting Quality, Delivery and Cost and technical support performance and conduct periodic reviews with the supply base with Supply Chain, Engineering and ACT leadership.
  • Track, analyze, and provide manufacturing and service performance data, for example, production control charts, reliability, process capability, to improve processes and monitor and measure progress to target
  • Lead and participate in regular meetings and reviewing with ACT's manufacturing partners to frequently assess technical competency and general compliance to requirements (material specifications, CTQ's, process control plans, quality agreements, etc.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable OSHA and EPA standards.
  • Coordinate new product releases with engineering team; following up on ECO releases and lead the implementation through the supply base.
  • Develop measures of success, track performance, communicate results, develop action plans to improve.

Education and Training:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering
  • 5+ years direct experience with electronic manufacturing

Technical Requirements:
  • Proven track record and working knowledge in Electrical/Electronics manufacturing industry
  • Detailed knowledge in manufacturing processes utilizing Electronic Assemblies, PCBA's construction design/manufacturing, and testing of electronic products.
  • Experience with quality control and failure analysis; PFMEA and Gage R&R experience is a plus
  • Experience with PLM, PDM, ECO, and BOM tools and processes 
  • Experience with statistical tools, including but not limited to: SPC, process capability analysis, DOE, DFSS
  • Analytic mindset to probe, test, and decompose challenging problems into root cause issues
  • Ability to provide concise, clear, and detailed training for assembly and service technicians
  • Ability to communicate information clearly and directly both verbally and in writing
  • Strong project management skills
  • High degree of computer literacy
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally
